IMPORTANT NOTICE

Please avoid coming into the surgery unless absolutely necessary.

We want to keep all our patients and staff safe in the current Coronavirus crisis.

As a temporary measure, we have made the decision to triage all emergency appointment requests.

Patients who require an urgent appointment should contact the surgery to book a telephone call from the GP. The GP will invite you to the surgery if they feel an appointment is necessary.

Any requests for medication, sick notes or general enquiries should be done via our email:

 Reception email: stoccg.p88011.receptionteam@nhs.net

Please avoid coming into the surgery for matters that can wait.

We are doing our best to protect our patients.

PLEASE HELP US TO HELP YOU!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION – PLEASE READ

INFECTION CONTROL MEASURES IN PLACE - COVID 19

In order to limit potential transmission we have implemented a telephone triage system with immediate effect. This does not mean that the practice is "closed" but that access is agreed first before attending.

If you need medical help please call the usual number 0161 475 1600 and if you need to be seen by a clinician you will be booked in.

Once triaged by a GP and you are invited to attend the practice, entry will be gained by using the intercom system at the entrance to the building and you will be buzzed in.

If you have coronavirus symptoms you should stay at home for 7 days. These symptoms are a high temperature and / or a new cough.

You can visit www.nhs.uk/coronavirus for further advice. Please DO NOT contact NHS 111 unless you feel you cannot cope with your symptoms at home, your condition gets worse or your symptoms do not get better after 7 days.

For patients who have an appointment with a Practice Nurse / Health Care Assistant you will be contacted before attending and only invited in if your appointment is absolutely necessary – you will be given the same advice as above about how to access the premises.

We ask that you DO NOT contact us regarding Coronavirus related advice about whether you:

  1. Are a risk
  2. Should say at home or go to work
  3. Should have a sick note.
  4. Please refer to this web site https://111.nhs.uk/isolation-note

Prescription Requests – If you normally bring you request directly to the practice please place this in the marked box in the foyer.  If you do not have a nominated chemist where you collect your prescription from, then you will need to nominate your local chemist.  This will mean that you can collect your prescription directly from the chemist. PLEASE DO NOT request your medication earlier and ONLY request items you actually need.

If you do not have Patient On-Line Access then please email your request to

www.stoccg.p88011.receptionteam@nhs.net

Sick Note Requests-Please email this request to the practice (as above) – this will be sent to you electronically or by post – please add your up to date contact number/s so we can contact you if necessary

For further advice regarding sick notes, please follow the advice of the UK Government web site:

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/guidance-to-employers-and-businesses-about-covid-19/covid-19-guidance-for-employees

These changes are necessary to enable us to keep our patients and staff safe, so please bear with us and only contact the practice if you absolutely need to do so.

Thank you
